Karl Stull is a freelance writer and editor, with a specialty in making difficult topics understandable for general audiences. He has written more than a hundred feature-length articles for EBSCO Information Services on science, technology, business, and international security.
His other freelance work includes:
- Writing supplements for McGraw-Hill middle-school textbooks
- Copy-editing and proofreading college textbooks in math and social science
- Heavy editing of economics articles by Japanese academics seeking to publish in US journals
- Editing articles by NASA scientists for The Planetary Society, a nonprofit supporting exploration of the solar system
Before going freelance in 2010, he was a copywriter for Progressive Impressions International, a direct marketer whose clients include State Farm, Caterpillar, and Ameriprise.
Karl Stull earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in English at the University of California, Santa Barbara, focusing on medieval literature and Shakespeare.
He grew up in Riverside, California, home of the parent navel orange tree. In 2014, he put together a postcard history of Riverside, An Hour from Anywhere.
